MUMBAI: Handmade Films’ Bheja Fry, which is releasing tomorrow (13 April), had been booked with some 55 – 60 prints until a week ago. However, buoyed by the thumbs up from the trade and media fraternity, the movie will now be released with close to 95 prints all over India.
Of these, around 40 prints will be released in the Bombay circuit itself. The remaining prints will be released all over India, which also includes digital prints.
What’s more, anticipating the audience response to the movie, the makers are also prepared to increase the number of prints post release, informs producer Sunil Doshi. “Once the movie is released, we are prepared to increase the number of prints based on the response we get from the distributors and the audience,” says Doshi.
“The programmers of multiplexes are very optimistic about the film and word of mouth is surely going to help this film a lot. Multiplexes are also planning to increase the number of shows for the film based on the response received from the trade fraternity,” adds Doshi.
Bheja Fry stars Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Milind Soman and Sarika. Although the film may have been made in a small budget, looks like it will reap in great sums for the makers. It is being distributed by PVR and Adlabs.
