MUMBAI : Producer Ravi Chopra’s Bhootnath, dogged by controversies since its inception, will resume shooting by next month.
Chopra says the shooting of Bhootnath will be taken up after star Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek’s wedding ceremonies are over. “we are planning to complete it by July this year. As decided, we will release the film this year,” adds Chopra.
In 1963, a film by the same name, directed by Nanabhai Bhatt, was released.
The 2007 version will star Amitabh Bachchan as the main protagonist. The other stars are Juhi Chawla, Rajpal Yadav, Satish Kaushik and others. Shah Rukh Khan will feature in a special appearance. Chopra’s assistant Vivek Sharma is directing the film.
This will be Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan’s seventh film together. They were seen together in Mohabbatein in 2000, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham in 2001, Veer Zaara in 2004, Paheli in 2005, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna in 2006 and will also be seen together in under-production venture Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
