IDream to showcase four films at global film festivals

MUMBAI: IDream Independent Pictures will showcase its films Thanks Maa, Karma Calling, Jogwa and Bombay Summer at several international film festivals across the globe, including Pusan International Film Festival and South Asian International Film Festival this month.  

The 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) to be held from 8 – 16 October in South Korea will screen the Hindi film Thanks Maa in A Window on Asian Cinema section on 9 October, 11 October and 14 October.  

Thanks Maa will be shown at the 2009 South Asian International Film Festival. The festival, held from 28 October to 3 November  in New York City, is the largest film premiere destination for South Asian filmmakers in the United States. Thanks Maa will also have its North American market premiere at American Film Market in Los Angeles.  

Bombay Summer will compete with 76 feature films, from over 35 countries at the 2009 Middle East Film Festival, including Claire Denis’s White Material and Dilip Mehta’s Cooking with Stella.  

After Abu Dhabi, the film travels to the San Diego Asian Film Festival and the Hawaii International Film Festival. The Indian premiere of the film will be held at the Goa International Film Festival.  

IDream Production’s Marathi film Jogwa (The Awakening),will be included in the 2009 South Asian Film Festival lineup.  

Karma Calling, a film about a hyper-globalized world, seen through the eyes of a Garden state family, will make its North American market debut at the 2009 American Film Market held in Los Angeles in November.
