iDreams acquires Amar Chitra Katha rights

MUMBAI: iDreams Production, which was in news for developing its new media venture for which they plan to raise $100 million, has acquired the rights of Amar Chitra Katha from India Book House.

In the course of time, the publishing of Amar Chitra will witness a series of modification.

iDreams’ president international sales Rohit Sharma says, “We have setup a different division for building up on Amar Chitra. In two years time it will be fully modified. Now the team is looking at various ways of presenting the content. In two to three months the difference will be evident. It will take sometime as it’s a new product.”

On being quizzed about creating content for television series, he adds, “Yes, that is on the cards too. We might make a four part series of the available content.”

However, Sharma refused to divulge any details about the sum of money it was acquired for.
