Eklavya mops up $8+ mn in opening weekend

MUMBAI: Eros International’s latest worldwide release, Eklavya – The Royal Guard, has grossed over $ 8 million in its opening weekend.
 
Directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film, which was released on 15 February, 2007, has received widespread critical acclaim in India, the US and the UK.
 
Eros International Plc director and president India Sunil Lulla said, “Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya has fully delivered on our expectations and following on from our success with Salaam-e-Ishq further strengthens our distribution credentials within India.” 
 
Eros International next major release is Vipul Shah’s Namastey London, which will hit screens worldwide on 23 March, 2007. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
