MUMBAI: Distributor Anil Thadani, who released Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, has yielded good results from the film.
Although the movie opened to mixed response, sources inform that the first week billing of Bombay city, suburbs, including Thane is around Rs 1.84 crores. “Looking at the response, Thadani has decided to engage 40 prints in its second week,†says the source.
Thadani had released the film in Bombay circuit with 72 prints including 19 UFOs, nine DLPs and two E-City. The norm that is followed if a movie does not open well is to reduce the number of films by 50 cent. These prints are then sent to B and C class centres and areas like Gujarat, Saurashtra, etc. however, in the case of Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, the response has encouraged Thadani to retain 40 odd prints.
The movie is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film deals with six different couples on their honeymoon to Goa in a bus.
