CANNES: At the Cannes Marche Du Film (film market place for buying and selling films), the Indian contingent is the strongest after countries like Japan and Korea.
Film companies like Eros International, UTV Motion Pictures, Studio 18, Reliance Big Entertainment, Shemaroo, IDream Independent Pictures, Alliance Media & Entertainment, Sahara One Media and Entertainment, Sun Stone Entertainment, In2 Infotainment India and NFDC have set up stalls to showcase their ready films for sales and also for sale and pre-sale of ready concepts.
Also present at the market are Moser Baer and PVR amongst others.
Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry additional secretary Uday Kumar Varma said, "I have been informed by the officials at Cannes that India is present in the market in a strong way. In fact, the Indian presence is third only to Japan and Korea. The 60th Cannes film festival last year, offered a special status to India and I am sure that with numerous market screenings and premieres this year will also prove fruitful."
