Indyarocks rolls online short film fest

MUMBAI: Mobile and online social networking portal Indyarocks.com has rolled an online short film festival, which is aimed at helping professional and amateur short film makers across India to reach out to a larger audience.


 


The festival will be conducted from 18 October to 15 December. Short film maker Nikhil Acharya will be the festival director.


 


The duration of the film submitted should be between one and 10 minutes. Makers can shoot films using their digital cameras, camcorders, or even their cell phones. There are four categories under which the films can be submitted – Fiction/Experimental, Documentary, Animation and Mobile. There will be a special viewers choice award and six Jury awards.


 


Indyarocks head of strategy Dr. Vishnu said, “There is a huge amount of digital content that gets created in the offline world and it usually never gets the kind of audience it deserves. Indyarocks film festival gives an opportunity to everyone to display their creativity not only to their family and friends but a whole new audience across the world.”


 

“Indyarocks has consistently added new features in its platform to expand its popularity and attract Indians across the globe. The two month Online Short film festival is one such an important initiative. One can make a short film based on every day events and submit the film for the festival before 18 November,” said Indyarocks head of India operations Kalyan Manyam.
