MUMBAI: Gurinder Chadha’s It’s a Wonderful Afterlife opened to much box-office fanfare in the UK. The film, which opened with paid previews on 21 April, grossed GBP 464,468 in its opening weekend.

The film is on to the No.7 position in the UK Top 10 charts.

The movie stars Shabana Azmi in the lead role along with Sendhil Ramamurthy and Goldy Notay.

An Indian Films – Studio18 release, It’s A Wonderful Afterlife releases in India in English and a Hindi dubbed version (Hai Marjawaan!) on 7 May.
