MUMBAI: Juhi Chawla has hopped on as the associate producer of Onir’s I AM.
Chawla has earlier produced films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hisdustani and Chalte Chalte under the Dreams Unlimited banner with Shah Rukh Khan.
Initially being produced by Onir and Sanjay Suri, Chawla along with her husband Jai Mehta and their friend Anish and Sangita Modi have now come onboard as producers of the film.
After helping raise investors for I AM – the country’s first crowd sourced film, Chawla expressed a desire to join Onir as associate producer. Onir, Suri and Chawla go back a long way right from their My Brother Nikhil days.
Onir says, “After we completed the entire shooting, Juhi expressed the desire to join us as an associate producer. Her addition to our team will be a big asset. I want my association with Juhi to be a very long-lasting one.”
Chawla will also star in the film alongside Manisha Koirala playing the role of a Kashmiri Pandit, who returns to Kashmir after 20 years.
