MUMBAI: Kaleidoscope Entertainment is planning to release a comedy movie, which is based on veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. What’s more, the film also stars Kapoor, who plays himself.
The movie is titled Chintu Ji and the name is derived from Rishi Kapoor’s nickname – Chintu. The movie has been directed by Ranjit Kapoor.
Speaking exclusively to Businessofcinema.com, Kaleidoscope Entertainment managing director Bobby Bedi said, "Chintu Ji is based on the future life of Rishi Kapoor and is a comedy. The shooting of the film is complete and we will be looking at releasing it in a couple of months."
The film has been made on a budget of under Rs 1 million (Rs 10 crores). Chintu Ji will be writer Ranjit Kapoor’s directorial debut. He has been previosuly associated with films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Bandit Queen, The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, amongst others as dialogue writer.
