MUMBAI: The R K Films’ banner will be active once again, it is reliably learnt.
The last film from the R K stable was Aa Ab Laut Chalen in 1999. This time round, Rishi Kapoor will direct son Ranbir Kapoor in a film to be launched soon.
Sources close to the Kapoor clan say, “The reports of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sawariyan starring Ranbir Kapoor (his debut movie) have been favourable. The film is nearing completion. Meanwhile, he is also being considered to play the lead in UTV and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Dilli 6. All this has prompted the Kapoors to restore their own production activity.”
Says Randhir Kapoor, “Yes, it’s true that we are reviving our production house. The production will be done under the banner of R K itself, which was lying low for the last seven years. We are in the pre-production stages right now, and it is too early to comment. Everything will be made public in a few months.”
