Kashmiri to direct film on Princess Diana

MUMBAI: United Hum (India) in association with Limelite Productions (UK) will soon launch a film based on the death of the late Princess Diana.

The film is being co-produced and directed by Kadar Kashmiri, who has recently completed Aaye Aaye Ya Karoon Mai Kya. Kashmiri had earlier produced Karamdaata in the 1980s, which was directed by Shashilal Nair and starred Shammi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Amrita Singh and others.

Says Kashmiri, “The film is titled Diana – Justice Delayed and Justice Denied. It could be a little controversial, but I have the backing of my UK based producers. The film will be made in English, Spanish, French and Hindi and will speak from the point of view of this middle-aged rich character John Elton, who knocks the doors of the law to get justice for Diana. Preeti, a new find from Kashmir, will play Diana in the film. We plan to get one of the leading actors to play John Elton. We plan to shoot the film in London, Egypt and Paris. Right now, we are in the pre-production stages.”
