MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government had institued an award in memory of Bismillah Khan and the former home minister Kripa Shankar Singh had also announced to host a musical programme in his memory.

The concert will be held on 8 September at the Shanmukhananda Hall in Mumbai and is called “Khan Saheb Ke Yaaden.”

Late Bismillah Khan’s four sons will come together at this concert to pay tribute to their father who passed away in Varanasi. The maestro’s second son Naiyyar Hussain Khan is expected to take over the mantle of his father.

While Naiyyar will play the ‘shehnai’ alongwith younger brothers Zamin and Qasim, the youngest brother Nazim will play the tabla.
