MUMBAI: The Lycra MTV Style Awards Model Hunt 2007 was recently conducted in Mumbai where model-a ctor Neha Dhupia and supermodel Sheetal Malhar graced the event as judges accompanied by the event’s host, MTV VJ Cyrus Sahukar.
The model hunt will also be held in Delhi and Bangalore on 5 and 8 October respectively.
The LYCRA MTV Style Awards 2007 Model Hunt entry mechanism was activated through the retail outlets of LYCRA brand partners – Park Avenue, Lee Cooper and Lifestyle.
The winners of the Model Hunt get to sashay the ramp on ‘My Tee’, the fourth interpretation of the LYCRA MTV Style Awards 2007 theme – “It’s My Style”. This line will be created by students chosen from the Designer Hunt. These students will be mentored by eminent designer Vikram Phadnis, who will help them put their collection together.
‘Uniforms’, ‘Gangs’ and ‘Retro’ are the other three interpretations of the theme, ‘It’s My Style’ that will be showcased by Abhishek and Nandita, Vikram Phadnis and Manish Malhotra respectively.
MTV India, Vice President – Marketing, Aditya Swamy says, “Young people today are full of toxic ambition. Lycra brand and MTV are coming together to give them an opportunity to make a dream come true. Through this hunt young everyday people get to be a part of our premier fashion event, thereby reinforcing the fact that MTV is the universe of the young, for the young, by the young.”
Panelist and judge, Dhupia added, “We are not only looking for stunning bodies, gorgeous faces and phenomenal skin but also attractive personalities, the right attitude and lots of style…something the participants in Mumbai proved they have plenty off. It would surely be a tough decision to choose the winners. I am also looking forward to the model hunts slated in Delhi and Bangalore.”
