Madhur Bhandarkar denies film on Awards with Percept

MUMBAI: Film maker Madhur Bhandarkar has denied that he is planning to make a film on Awards. Rumours that the director has tied up with Percept Picture Company for this film were afloat. It was also said that he has signed Priyanka Chopra for the lead.
However, laughing off the rumours, Bhandarkar tells Businessofcinema.com, "There is no such picture on the anvil. I am really busy with the post production of Jail, which will release October end. Whoever has said it, is quoting me wrongly."
Bhandarkar went on to add, "I am interested in building the brand, Madhur Bhandarkar Entertainment. My banner needs to grow and I am on the lookout for not just good subjects but also good writers. As my films are so steeped in reality and yet has entertaining qualities, the writer needs to be completely in sync with my ideas as well as with what I want him to write. That is my biggest dilemma."
Bhandarkar, who does not ever repeat his lead heroine in his films, was taken aback when stories of him signing Priyanka came to light. He said, "When there is no story in sight, how can I sign the lead for my film. There is nothing planned right now."
Bhandarkar is currently working on Jail, which features Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mughda Godse in lead roles.
