MUMBAI: Malayalam-Tamil actor, Murali, who passed away on Thursday, 6 August, was cremated with full state honors on Friday evening.
He was cremated at Aruvikkara, a village in the outskirts of the capital city.
Murali’s body was taken to his ancestral village Kudavattoor, near Kottarakkara, in the morning where it was kept at LP School for his neighbours and childhood friends, who paid their last respects. It was then brought back to Thiruvananthapuram and kept at the University Senate Hall where people from the political, social and cultural circle along with thousands of common people paid their tributes to Murali.
He had acted in about 200 films in his career of 30 years. He had won the National Award for best actor for his role in 2001 for his performance in Neythukaaran (Weaver). He also won four other State Awards for acting.
