Melbourne’s Yarra River set to stage the Largest Bollywood Dance attempt

MUMBAI: The Moomba Cultural Quarter along the banks of Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River will play host to the world’s Largest Bollywood Dance attempt on Saturday, 12  March, 2011, at 2:00pm.

Malaika Arora Khan will cheer on dancers from the Shiamak Davar Dance Academy who will perform with the public to the Bollywood hit song Munni Badnam Hui.
This public dance is one of the many special events planned for the 2011 Indian Film Festival: Bollywood & Beyond (IFF) – the second instalment following the success of the 2010 inaugural festival.

This year’s IFF features over 30 films including 15 Australian premieres in a program celebrating traditional Bollywood sequins and fantasy, and also demonstrates the depth of contemporary Indian film.

Besides Malaika, the other people from the film fraternity including Vidya Balan, actor producer Juhi Chawla, Pakistani pop sensation Ali Zafar , filmmakers Kabir Khan, Raj Kumar Gupta and Onir , actor turned producer Arbaaz Khan and producer Leslee Udwin will be attending the IFF.
