MUMBAI: Sanjeev Kohli has stepped down from his position as CEO of Yash Raj Films. While Kohli has given up his responsibilities as CEO, he will remain as a consultant to the company.

In his resignation letter to the company, Kohli said, "I will continue my association with YRF as a consultant hereafter. This will enable me to find time to indulge in my different pursuits, as well as still give me the opportunity to continue to participate in the strategic matters of the company and be a part of its future growth."
Speaking about the reason for stepping down Kohli said, "I have at various times indicated to Yashji and Adi that I wish to pursue some creative and cultural activities. We had concluded in June 2006 that we would re-address this when Adi had released his next directorial venture (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi)."
