MUMBAI: Michael Jackson’s This Is It has taken worldwide box office earnings of approximately $24 million. The movie did a business of $ 20.1 million on Day 1 and has so far done a business of $11 million in North America.
In its first day, This Is It grossed $7.45 million in North America, whereas the collections from other markets have totaled up $12.7 million. On day one, the movie collected $1.9 million in the UK, $1.4 million in France, $1.2 million in Japan and $1.1 million in Germany.
The movie had 18 simultaneous screenings across five continents on Tuesday night and was released simultaneously across 99 countries. It showcases the concert rehearsals by the King of Pop and his troupe just days before he died earlier this year.
