Mohit Suri casts Emraan Hashmi in racial discrimination film

MUMBAI: The spate of racial attacks on Indians in Australia over the last few months has had the country worrying. Now, director Mohit Suri will be directing a movie on racial discrimination with Indians abroad. The movie will star Emraan Hashmi in the lead.

What’s more, Suri will be traveling Down Under for research on the subject and will also meet the victims of assault.

On his trip, the director will also be finalizing locations for the shooting of the movie.

Suri said, "Racism is a universal issue and concerns everyone on the globe. I am not attempting to demonize or victimize anyone. We are just attempting to tell a story based on facts, which are open to interpretation."

The director said that even though the media has hyped the incidents to some extent, the bottomline was that discrimination in any shape or form is a harsh reality of this world.

The movie will talk about how people come together in the face of adversity.

Suri has so far made films like Zeher, Kalyug, Woh Lamhe, Awaraapan and Raaz – the Mystery Continues.
