MUMBAI: Marathi filmmaker M.H. Chate has devised a novel way of attracting audiences to theatres, which will screen his upcoming Hindi films, Friendship directed by Priyadarshan and Phir Bhi Rahegi Nishaniyaan directed by Mahesh Kothare. If anyone, who watches the film is dissatisfied with the film, he or she can come to the office with the ticket and ask for a refund.
Friendship, with an all female starcast is a remake of a Marathi film, Bindhaast and stars Tabu, Jyothica and Sharbani Mukherjee. Phir Bhi Rahegi Nishaniyaan is a remake of Chate’s film Chimanee Pakhre starring Padmini Kolhapuri and Sachin Khedekar.
Deoyani Films’ Arun Jain says, “The refund scheme will be valid in the first week of the films’ release. However we are confident that this will not happen. We have faith in our films; the audiences will surely love them.â€ÂÂ
Moreover Chate has also offered prizes for the audience who want to double up as critics and write a review of the films in around 500 words. Around 1000 such reviews will be selected and the reviews will be published in various newspapers in different Indian languages by the producer.
Both films are set to release across the country on 3 November and the offers are valid in every theatre screening the film in every city. With these interesting promotion tactics, curiosity about the films is likely to soar high.
