N Chandra to direct movie on Abu Salem

MUMBAI: N Chandra will be directing a film based on the life of gangster Abu Salem, who is an accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. The film is called Kanoon Ko Badal Dalo and will be produced by Salem’s advocate Ashok Sarogi’s wife Sarla.

What’s more, Sarogi will also be seeking special permission from the court to allow Salem to act in the film.

“If we get permission from the court, then Abu Salem will be acting in Kanoon Ko Badal Dalo, which is based on his own life. We are going to take special permission from the court to allow Salem to shoot for 10 days for this movie and the petition will be filed on Monday,” says Sarogi.

“The script is almost ready and is written by B R Ishaara. It will be directed by N Chandra and is based on Salem’s life that no one knows of. The film starts from his childhood days and then moves to him turning a politician. If the court doesn’t allow Abu to shoot then we will think of his replacement. The movie will be made on a medium budget and will be completed in just 10 days,” he adds.
