NDTV Lumiere & Alliance Francaise of Madras launch film festival

MUMBAI: NDTV Lumiere and Alliance Francaise of Madras will be launching a five day film festival called Experience Thrillers, which will show case the best in horror, suspense, mystery adventure and crime.

The film festival will be held at Alliance Francaise of Madras Auditorium in Chennai from 5 – 9 August with a different movie to be screened twice everyday at 7 pm and 9 pm. The Festival is free and open to all.

Experience Thrillers kicks off with The Orphanage – a spine chilling thriller and Spain’s official entry for the 2008 Academy Awards. Directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and produced by Guillermo Del Toro, this thriller stars Spanish actress Belèn Rueda and Geraldine Chaplin (the grand-daughter of Charlie Chaplin).

Some of the other movies that will be screened are The Page Turner, Crossed Tracks, King of the Hill and Shiver.

The premiere of Experience Thrillers will be held on 4 August at the Alliance Francaise of Madras auditorium with a special screening of The Orphanage. The guest of honour for the evening is Shruti Haasan.
