Nokia buys Hindi movies’ licensing rights from Moser Baer

MUMBAI: Mobile phone company Nokia has acquired the movie licensing rights for eight Hindi films from Moser Baer.

The rights have been bought for a period of one year and includes the movies Jab We Met, Kidnap, Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Border, Company, Karan Arjun and Raaj.

The movie licensing rights include the tight to embed the films on phone memory cards for the purpose of sale of the devices and distribution of memory carrds to the end user for personal use.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com Moser Baer Entertainment CEO Harish Dayani says, "Nokia has acquired the rights of some movie titles from us. They want to use it for their handsets and provide it free to the consumers. It is more of a pilot phase for us at this point in time. We will see what kind of potential this has in the market and then take a call on providing this to other handset manufacturers too."

Dayani also informed that Moser Baer has the movie licensing rights to many more titles.
