MUMBAI: The 10th Osian’s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema today felicitated veteran actor Shammi Kapoor.
Present on the occasion were actor Aamir Khan and film industry veterans Shakti Samantha and Lekh Tandon. Kapoor received a standing ovation by the audience present in the theatre.
Additionally, the evening also saw the unveiling of the scale model of the Osian’s cultural complex ‘Osianama’ by the likes of Shyam Benegal, Sarayu Doshi, Basu Chatterjee, Gieve Patel, Syaed Mirza, Dina Vakil, Kiran Shantaram, Sangita Kathiwada amongst others.
Osian’s founder and chairman Neville Tuli said, "The grand finale of the 10th Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival Mumbai was a brilliant success and the unveiling of the Osianama has created a huge expectation amidst our public, intelligencia and the film fraternity. I hope Osian’s and myself will be able to fulfill these expectations. The momentum for the 10th Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival has now built up and as they say Delhi Chalo."
The Osian’s Cinefan Festival will be held in Delhi from 10 to 20 July.
The evening also witnessed Aruna Vasudev, founder Cinefan, festival of Asian cinema stepping down as the director of the festival. Additionally, Latika Padgaonkar and Indu Shrikent were named the new joint directors of the festival.
