Pammi Somal’s Mummy-Ji to release in May


MUMBAI: Writer director Pammi Somal’s Mummy-Ji, shot entirely in the US, is now ready for release.


Says Somal, “Except for a song to be picturised on Gurdas Mann, who makes a special appearance, the entire shooting of the film has been completed.  We plan to release the film on ‘Mother’s Day’, which falls in the second week of May. The film has been made in three languages – Hindi, English and Punjabi. Meanwhile, we are currently editing the film and are busy with other post-production work.”


The film, produced by Dave Atwal, has Kirron Kher playing an urbanised mummy. It also features Jackie Shroff, Kanwaljit, Divya Dutta, Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik. Viraf Patel (who won the Grasim Mr India 2005 title), Sachin Sharma, Simran and Nimisha form Mumm -Ji’s family.


Music for the film has been composed by Aadesh Srivastava, and the lyrics have been penned by Sameer. Ashmit Kunder is currently editing the film.
