Paramount Films unveils robust movie line up for 2008

MUMBAI: Paramount Films of India Ltd, a distributor of Hollywood films in India, has as many as 30 movies up for release in 2008.

The forthcoming films line up for 2008 includes films like Wanted, The Incredible Hulk, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Mamma Mia, Death Race, Hellboy II- The Golden Army, The Mummy- Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, No Country for Old Men, Spiderwick Chronicles, Drillbit Taylor, Iron Man, Indiana Jones 4, The Ruins, Star Trek, The Love Guru, Eagle Eye and three animation movies The Tale Of Despereaux, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2.

Paramount’s summer movie releases include Iron Man (2 May), Indiana Jones (22 May), Wanted (13 June) and Mummy 3 (1 August).

Paramount also plans to release dubbed versions of about fiv films from the entire repertoire to reach a wider audience. The movies will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and will be released along with the English version.

 
"From the entire line up, we are hoping for Indiana Jones and Mummy 3 to do exceptionally well in India and also the animation movies Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2. Due to the increase in the number of multiplexes in A, B & C class centres, we can tap wider and newer markets and also release more titles with increased number of prints," says Paramount Films of India general manager Sarabjit Singh.
 
Paramount Films Singapore regional director sales and marketing Han Seng Lim adds, "We are hoping for 2008 to outperform 2007. In 2009 we will release Transformers 2 and Shrek 4. We would like to watch how the Indian market would react to this year’s line up of releases."
