Parineeti Chopra’s Reaction To ‘Body Shaming’ In Bollywood

Parineeti-Chopra-[tps_footer]It’s expected from an actor, model to look good, glamorous and picture perfect all the time. Which is practically impossible because we all are human and we go through bad hair day, bad skin day with a rock size pimple popping up which no makeup can hide, same outfits worn at the same or different events, gaining weight or reducing too much. This all happens and it’s so normal to happen but the way we look at stars, that perception turns them into larger than life and it also puts a lot of pressure on them.

Parineeti Chopra right from her Ladies VS Ricky Bahl starring Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Dipannita Sharma, and Aditi Sharma, was always criticized for being too healthy onscreen, actresses in B-Town need to have a well sculpted, flawless and a super fit body. Only males don’t go through the pressure to have a hot bod but even the actresses face the heat of being too thin or on the heavier side. Like Zareen Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and more have always raised their voice against body shaming and now it’s Parineeti Chopra who has lost a lot of extra weight and has given a new hot avatar to herself. She has turned out to be an inspiration for many people out there who are struggling with weight issues and are looking forward to shedding out those extraaa kilos !

BEFORE .. All my life, I have struggled with how I look, how I feel, and how people looked at me. I was constantly made fun of, but the person I was, I generously laughed with them. Today, many people ask me what triggered the weight loss, did I give in to the “bollywood pressure”? To that I say – thank god I became an actor and had that pressure! I am able to achieve what I couldn’t achieve otherwise. I feel more confident, I feel at peace, and I feel proud! Girls and women meet me all around the world, at airports, events, on the street; they hold my hand, hug me, and tell me their struggles and how I changed their lives. They show me their wallpapers, their wallets, and its all pictures of me!! They look at those pictures and want to make that change in their own lives. They look at my Built That Way campaign and have stuck it to their walls. I have seen women tear up and tell me I changed their life. Post delivery weight, teenage obesity, they are fighting it, and I am their inspiration. As an actor, There is no bigger achievement for me. I am glad to be a part of your life in this way. So thank you everyone. Thank You for making me feel loved. Like I always say – if I could do it. So can you. And I am always there for all of you …. Lots of love….

Honestly, Parineeti was heavily criticized for her not-so-fit body and a lot of people even said that she is still in the industry not because of hard work but because she is the cousin sister of Priyanka Chopra. Otherwise, a girl with so much of weight can never be an A-lister but those people forgot to watch Vidya Balan in their blind hatred towards Pari. Seriously, you can get an opportunity in the industry by being someone’s sister, daughter or a friend but ultimately it’s the audiences who will make you a star and only with your own dedication and hard work you can sustain a successful career in Bollywood.
