Percept’s Hanuman returns in a new avatar

MUMBAI: The animated Hanuman will be back this November albeit in a new avatar from the Percept Picture Company stable.

Hanuman Returns is a story in a contemporary setting, unlike its mythological counterpart, so Hanuman’s look will also be more contemporary,” says Percept Picture Company CEO Preet Bedi.

The look of the film and the character of Hanuman is being kept under wraps for now. The new look will be unveiled by Percept at a press conference scheduled to be held in the first week of September.

Since Hanuman Returns is being touted as a bigger and better film than Hanuman, the company is planning a wider campaign around the film. “Our overall spends for Hanuman Returns would be approximately Rs 50 million (Rs 5 crores). We are also planning to launch a mobile game, apparel and 300 products across various categories.”

The film has been directed by V G Samant and has dialogues by Anurag Kashyap. The movie is scheduled to release on 2 November.
