Phansekar to direct Mukti for K. Sera Sera

MUMBAI: Director Ajay Phansekar has been signed on to direct Mukti for K Sera Sera.

Confirming the development Phansekar says, “Mukti is budgeted at around Rs 50 million. It is based on a real incident in Mumbai. Suniel Shetty has been signed on to play an important role. Meanwhile, talks are on with Jaya Bachchan too. The film will roll in December.”

Phansekar had produced and directed his first film Encounter – The Killing starring Naseeruddin Shah. The film was made on a budget of Rs 15 million (Rs 1.5 crores), and was nominated for several awards including best director. Phansekar’s next Hindi film was Yeh Hai Zindagi starring Gracy Singh, Pravin Dabbas and Sahil Khan.

Meanwhile, the director is busy with the post-production work for a big budget Marathi film called Ramchandra Purshottam Joshi. The film tells the story of a dead man permitted to revisit his family for eight hours from hell.
