MUMBAI: Legendary Hollywood actor Jane Fonda will be seen on Pix’s Inside the Actors Studio with James Lipton on 1 April 2007 at 7 pm.
Winner of two Oscars, two BAFTAs, one Emmy, one Gala Tribute, six Golden Globes amongst others, Fonda started the aerobic exercise craze in the eighties with the publication of “Jane Fonda’s Workout Book.”
Speaking about her decision not to go in for plastic surgery, Fonda said, “I realised that I’m going to be 70 in a year, and I have chosen not to have any more plastic surgery. Sally Field and I have kind of made a pact about that. We need women friends, women who challenge us. It’s really hard, especially if you’re a public person. But I want to give a face to aging. I don’t want my wrinkles taken away… I don’t want to look like everyone else.”
Born to screen star Henry Fonda, Jane’s interest in acting sparked after meeting Lee Strasberg in 1958 and joining the Actors Studio. Her screen debut in Tall Story (1960) marked the beginning of a successful acting career highlighted by two Academy Awards for her performance in Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978) and five Oscar nominations for Best Actress.
In 1995, Fonda was chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history, and in October 1997, she was ranked 83 in Empire (UK) magazine’s “The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time” list.
