MUMBAI: At a press conference held today at the single screen Gaiety, Aa Dekhen Zara’s cast comprising Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu came forward to reach out to the audience to communicate that they should watch this movie in a single screen, as it is not playing in multiplexes due to the ongoing tussle between the producers and multiplexes.
During the course of the conference Mukesh Bhatt and Eros International COO Jyoti Deshpande said, "All or any one multiplex chain can come forward and align with the producers and play our films. We are ready to sit across the table and talk to them."
The message put forth was a clear invitation to all or any one national multiplex chain to come forward and support producers by playing their movies. The movie will be played at 50 per cent revenue share only. Hence, even though the multiplex will have to shell out an extra share than before, this move will break the unity of multiplexes and will guarantee the multiplex a flow of movies to screen.
Deshpande further added, "Today this has happened to Eros and Aa Dekhen Zara and tomorrow it can happen to some other film."
Bipasha Basu said, "I truly can feel today what a producer goes through. As an actor I feel audience should have an option to see my film and I am glad we still have the option of a single screen. Please go to single screens and watch Aa Dekhen Zara."
Present at the conference were Mukesh Bhatt, Vashu Bhagnani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sajid Nadiadwala, Sajid Khan, Ramesh Taurani, Bunty Walia, Sujoy Ghosh, Ritesh Deshmukh amongst many others.
