MUMBAI: Bunty Walia is a relieved producer. His Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Kunal Kapoor starrer Lamhaa, which is directed by Rahul Dholakia, is ready for release. The movie will hit theatres on 16 July. Other actors in the film are Anupam Kher and Shenazz Patel.
Talking about his film, Bunty Walia tells Businessofcinema.com, "We shot the film across three schedules. We started the film in Kashmir and returned to the Valley for a second time after a schedule in Mumbai. We shot for 25 days in Kashmir and the remaining 50 days in Mumbai, where we put up a big set spread across three acres in Film City."
Lamhaa is about Kashmir and the government of Kashmir went out of its way to ensure that there was no untoward incident whilst shooting. Walia discloses, "The tourism department paved the way for a smooth schedule. The Abdullah family of Farooq and Omar Abdullah personally saw to that we had police protection and that permissions were easily sought. Shooting proceeded speedily contrary to whatever was reported."
Lamhaa will be award winning film maker Rahul Dholakia’s second film after his debut film Parzania won critical appraise. Lamhaa is a sensitive film and just like Parzania, which spoke about the angst of the people in a terror stricken place, Lamhaa too will deal about these issues.
