Rakhi Ka Swayamwar finale garners 8.4 TVR

MUMBAI: Rakhi Ka Swayamvar which had audiences captivated on a week on week basis has crossed another milestone in Television history by achieving the highest rating by any non-fiction show in the past 2 years.

According to TAM data, Rakhi Ka Swayamvar Faisle Ki Raat registered a huge 8.4 TVR with a slot rating of 10.6 TVR. It was also the No. 1 TV show on Indian Television for the recent week. The final of this unique show was telecasted LIVE on NDTV Imagine on 2 August.

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar opened at 4.1 TVR, making it the biggest non- fiction launch in over 15 months.

The success of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar and the continued growth of shows like Bandini and Jyoti have propelled NDTV Imagine to 141 GRPs this week.   NDTV Imagine EVP Content Shailja Kejriwal said, “Rakhi Ka Swayamwar has smashed all recent TV viewing records. The show was truly a unique concept and the numbers more than substantiate the show’s huge fan following. Imagine promises to continue entertaining and delighting viewers and our next big reality show to watch out for is Pati Patni aur Woh, which will take reality TV to the next level.”

The finale of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar was viewed by over 25 million viewers across the country. It was also equally popular across the country and amongst all age groups.

Close on the heels of the success of Rakhi ka Swayamvar, Imagine has also announced its new ground breaking reality show – Pati, Patni Aur Woh.  This new show will remove 5 celebrity couples from their glamorous lives and thrust them into a simulation of the real world where they will become parents and live life in fast forward! The celebrities will get a realistic and holistic experience of parenting across the various stages, from infancy to adolescence to handling the elderly.

Each couple will be given different tasks & situations to test their parenting skills, monitored by cameras 24×7. Importantly, the couples will receive no help – in the form of maids, nannies or relatives & parents – and will have to operate on a limited middle class budget.
