Raman Kumar plans to direct Kabir Bedi

MUMBAI: Writer-director Raman Kumar plans to direct an English film, in which veteran actor Kabir Bedi will play the central character.


Says Kumar, “We have plans to make an English film with Kabir Bedi. It is too early to be discussed. Then there is a TV series too being drafted.”


An FTII student, Raman Kumar co-directed a TV serial Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi in the 1980s. He has also directed serials like Puraskar, Guniram, Yeh Duniya Gazab Hai, Athwan Rang and Papa. With filmmaker Vinta Nanda, he opened his own production house Tracinema, which produced  hit soaps like Tara in 1994, followed by Agnichakra and Sansar. Miilee was his last serial on Star Plus in 2005-2006.


On the film front, Kumar’s last release was Sarhaad Paar. He had earlier directed films like Saath Saath, Rahee, Parbat Ke Us Paar, Kasam Teri Kasam, Shabnam, Wah Wah Ramji and Raja Bhaiya.
