Ranbir Kapoor appointed brand ambassador of ITC’s John Players

MUMBAI: John Players, the youth fashion brand of men’s apparel from ITC has appointed Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador. Kapoor walked the ramp presenting the John Players’ Spring Summer Collection 2010. The platform was also used to launch the new brand logo.

Scheduled to be launched in April this year, the new advertising campaign, captures the various moods of Kapoor. ITC divisional chief executive Atul Chand said, “With Ranbir, we plan to strengthen John Players’s connect with the youth and the foundation has been laid today with the launch of new brand logo. John Players’ new logo reflects the evolution of the brand in keeping with the changing consumer attitudes. I’m particularly happy that the New Face of Cool for John Players, Ranbir is unveiling the new John Players’ Spring Summer Collection 2010 in person which also marks his commitment for the brand.”

“As a youth icon, Ranbir is a trend-setter and appeals to a young audience. His style, charisma and attitude are reflected in the sentiments of millions of young Indians who aspire to be fashionable and trendy. He brings with himself a refreshing new look which we believe will go a long way in reinforcing universal appeal for the brand,” he added.

“I had fun shooting the John Players spring summer 2010 ad campaign. In fact, I’m very curious to see the reactions to the campaign when it is released. Going forward, I hope to contribute in my own little way to the brand persona and styling,” said Kapoor.
