Reebok, Zoom launch Glam Awards 2008

MUMBAI: One of the world’s leading sport’s brand Reebok and lifestyle channel Zoom organized the grand Reebok Zoom Glam Awards 2008 at the J W Marriott Hotel here. It was a glamorous evening where the who’s who of society was present.


Zoom vice president and business head M K Anand said, “As a media brand focusing on glamour and celebrities, it has been Zoom’s endeavour to showcase the beautiful people and their high life through our various offerings. Hence, an award recognizing and valuating those who take the ‘Glamorous Best’ to the next level with their sartorial elegance.” “We are committed to making these awards a sought-after recognition and much-awaited annual event,” he added.


Reebok India managing director Subhinder Singh added, “Young India is on the move. Youngsters like to express themselves through their professions, what they wear, what they do in their leisure time and more. The attitude has changed from ‘I have to do this’, to ‘I want to do it’.”


“Our association with the Zoom Glam Awards is an attempt to bring forth this new lifestyle to consumers, while telling them that sports can be fashionable and glamorous.”


Zoom and Reebok aptly designed these awards to honour the ‘Glamour & Flamboyance’ quotient of stylish stalwarts including Bollywood celebrities, models, fashion designers, photographers, sports stars and politicians in India. Judging by the evening’s celeb turnout, picking award winners was clearly not an easy task.


The show was hosted by television actress Simone Singh and Ash Chandler. The Glam Model-Male went to Sahil Shroff while the Glam Model-Female was received by Sarah Jane. Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra were awarded the Glam Film Stars. Jyotirmay Scindia, Yash Birla, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Manish Malhotra, Malani Ramani and Raghuvendra Rathore were some other Glam winners.


The first Reebok Zoom-Glam Awards Coffee Table Book was also launched at the event with Percept Holdings joint MD Shailendra Singh stepping in as Celebrity Guest Editor. The theme of the book brought together Reebok’s belief that ‘there are two people in everyone – paying tribute to both, the professional and person, the star and person behind the star’.
