Reliance Big Entertainment & Brad Pitt partner with Capcom

MUMBAI: Reliance Big Entertainment and Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment have joined forces with Capcom to develop feature film based on Dark Void.

Capcom will release Dark Void on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system and PC in North America on 19 January, 2010 and across Europe on 22 January, 2010.

Dark Void centers on Will, a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission. Will wakes up to find himself in The Void, an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization.

Reliance BIG Entertainment, first introduced its development/production financing deal, termed a Creative Partnership, with Plan B Entertainment at the Cannes Film Festival 2008.

Reliance BIG Entertainment chairman Amit Khanna said, "We are delighted that our Creative Partnership with Plan B has led to this agreement to develop the Dark Void motion picture based on Dark Void along with Capcom and we look forward to future projects from them."

"As a game, Dark Void was developed with a wide-screen mentality – a world full of adventure presented in cinematic scope and scale. Plan B recognized the potential of our newest property and are as excited about bringing Dark Void to life in cinemas as Capcom is to bring the interactive experience to home theaters," said Capcom Entertainment senior vice president licensing Germaine Gioia.
