MUMBAI: The second print of veteran writer Faud Omar’s debut book Bollywood: An Insider’s Guide will be out in August this year.
The book, that was first released in July 2006, has reportedly outsold other popular books including Lights Camera Masala, say sources.
Bollywood: An Insider’s Guide encapsulates the works of the Hindi film industry with reviews, features and takes the reader behind the scenes, providing a glimpse of the lives of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan.
The book is also being touted as first such exercise on Indian cinema that will be used as a study aid overseas. It is believed that excerpts from the book are the background for exercises promoting the English language in a standard textbook too. The book has been selected by Thomson Higher Education as a study aid for schools and colleges in the US and Canada.
