MUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar’s been out and about lately. We recently caught up with the ‘Master Blaster’ at the screening of Riteish Deshmukh’s Marathi film ‘Balak Palak’.
The usually reticent Sachin Tendulkar has been spotted at various Bollywood events off late. First there was the Kailash Kher concert at Khar gym, which Mr. Tendulkar attended. Then came the music launch of Asha Bhonsle’s ‘Mai’. And now, Sachin has taken time out to catch a special screening of Riteish’s Marathi film ‘Balak Palak’
Ritesih and his wife Genelia organised a special screening of the film, when Sachin expressed a desire to watch it. The retired one-day international cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar came along with his wife Anjali to catch the film that everyone in Bollywood’s been raving about.
Dressed in a simple cream cardigan, Sachin was seen exiting the venue post the screening with his lovely wife Anjali. Riteish and Genelia, being the gracious hosts that they are, came right outside the theatre to see off their Marathi friend. Riteish wore a white shirt and blue jeans, while Genelia matched him note for note in casuals like a purple top, blue jeans and a grey sweater. Her lace-up boots were an interesting accessory to an otherwise boring outfit.
Balak Palak is a Marathi comedy-drama film, directed by Ravi Jadhav and produced by Riteish Deshmukh, Uttung Thankur and Ravi Jadhav. The film, which released earlier this month, has so far received great reviews from all and sundry. The entire fraternity has been patting Riteish on his back for backing such a sensitive topic, and having the courage to portray it as a comedy. Looks like Sachin Tendulkar is now his latest fan too!
