Salman Khan takes charge of Rahul Bhatt’s career

MUMBAI: "Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di toh phir main khud ki bhi nahi sunta." Salman Khan’s now famous dialogue from Dabanng certainly stand true as far as the actor is concerned. During the time he hosted Bigg Boss 4 on Colors, Khan had taken a shine to Mahesh Bhatt’s son Rahul and had even given him tips on how to make his body-line more screen-friendly.

Khan had also assured Rahul that there would be a movie soon to launch him. After waiting patiently for months, Rahul has reason to breathe a sigh of relief. Salman has apparently found the right vehicle for Bhatt Junior and is all set to not only produce it but also play the protagonist’s part in it.

Salman thinks Rahul should slot himself in the antagonist’s slot and has the potential to become the suavest villain in Hindi cinema since Shatrughan Sinha.

The film that Salman has chosen as Rahul Bhatt’s launch vehicle is the 1990 American horror-action film The First Power directed by Robert Resnikoff. Salman wants Rahul to play the antagonist.

A source tells Businessofcinema.com, “Rahul didn’t know about the film. Salman told him to watch The First Power. He feels Rahul would be perfect in the part of the satanic serial killer played by Jeff Kober in the original. Salman has asked Rahul to work on the body language of the killer in the film and has also agreed to play the part of the cop who hunts down the killer.”

When contacted, Rahul admits to the developments in his career. “Yes, Salman wants me to do the remake of an American film but I don’t want to name the film. We met and he thought it was a perfect launch film for me. Salman thinks I should aim to do negative roles. I think he’s right.”

When prodded to reveal more details Rahul adds, “We are working on getting the project started immediately. All I can say at this point is that in Salman I’ve found the perfect mentor and guide. I look up to him and value his opinion. If he thinks I’ve the potential then I believe I do.”
