MUMBAI: Salman Khan’s ‘Mental’, directed by his brother Sohail Khan, has seen several hurdles since shooting began. First it was Salman Khan’s neuralgia and his treatment in America, which stalled shooting of ‘Mental’. Then it was the problems between the stuntmen federation of south and north, which resulted in loss of 25 days and Rs 12 crores. And now the film’s leading lady Sana Khan and her sudden disappearance has led to ‘Mental’ being stuck in a huge mess.
Sana Khan who is playing the lead in ‘Mental’ alongside Salman Khan has been on the run since 30 April. A case of kidnapping has been filed against the actress, who apparently abducted a 15-year-old girl in suburban Mumbai. Allegedly, the girl had rejected her cousin, Naved Khan’s, marriage proposal.
This is not the first time Sana Khan has had a brush with controversy. The actress who made an appearance on reality show ‘Big Boss’ where Salman Khan played the host, created a stir when she shot for a men’s innerwear brand and was booked for obscenity.
A production assistant from the sets of ‘Mental’ dealing with the cast and crew was unaware, that Sana Khan is absconding and said, “ We have a shooting at Lavasa next week. If what you are saying is true, then we are in big trouble.”
Sana Khan’s spokesperson Ismail Khan denied the news and said, “How can Sana kidnap anybody? An FIR was lodged with the police and Sana Khan was wrongly accused of forcing a minor to marry an 18-year old boy”.
Despite repeated attempts, director Sohail Khan was unavailable for comments. We wonder, is ‘Mental’, a jinxed venture for Sohail Khan and team, especially Salman Khan who has been riding high on his success?
