Without Luxury: Sanjay Dutt’s Routine At Yerawada Jail

PUNE: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is serving his remainder sentence for the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, preferred spending a quiet day at the Yerawada Jail.

The actor spent most of his day resting in his cell and followed the jail routine separately from other inmates. The jail routine begins as early as 7.30 AM when breakfast is served, followed by lunch at 11.30 AM and dinner at 6.30 PM.

Sanjay Dutt who surrendered on 16 May to the TADA court has completed most of his films before he surrendered. His projects include, ‘Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke’, KS Ravikumar’s ‘Policegiri’, Raju Hirani’s ‘PK’ and Rensil D’Silva’s ‘Unglee’.

A jail official said, “Sanjay Dutt followed the jail routine separately, as he has been kept in a separate cell.”

Sanjay Dutt was initially kept at the Arthur Road Jail in Central Mumbai, but was brought to Pune after a week’s stay there.

With the last few days before surrender being quite hectic and sleepless nights, this is a welcome break for Sanjay Dutt even if it is in jail. We wonder how he would manage without his luxuries though.
