Salman Khan’s Veer resumes its Rajasthan schedule

MUMBAI: The unit of producer Vijay Galani’s Veer has moved bag and baggage to its new shooting location of Jaipur. After completing its Mumbai schedule, the team started shooting across the state of Rajasthan. But an accident on the site of shooting has put a spanner in the works with the High Court canceling all further shoots at the location where the wall collapsed. The schedule was for 50 days.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com over the phone from Jaipur, the producer of the film, Galani said, "We have moved to another location in Jaipur because of the High Court order. But our schedule is on track and we have not lost any days because of the wall collapse incident. After we wrap up shooting in Jaipur in 10 days, we move to a place called Sambar Lake on 17 February. Eight days later, the camp shifts to Jodhpur, then to Bhanjar for five days and then to Dulla for a schedule of 10 days. We then return to Jodhpur to shoot at the Mehranghar Fort for 12 days. In between we also have to shoot a train sequence in Bikaner for six days."

Currently the film has a large unit of 32 character actors with the main lead of Salman Khan and Sohail Khan. The two lead actresses Zarine Khan and UK based actress, Lisa Lazarus is also present for the shooting. Mithun Chakraborty who plays a key role in the film will join the unit on 16 February.

At least 60 per cent of the film will be completed in this 50 day schedule. Major action scenes will be part of the agenda. Galani said, "We have already shot four songs. One song is left to be picturised and that will be shot in London. We also have a month’s schedule in London from 10 April – 10 May."

Veer is being directed by Anil Sharma and the story of the film has been penned by Salman Khan. The film is about the love story of a Rajput warrior played by Salman Khan and a Princess, played by Zarine Khan.

Set against the period of 1860 to 1900, this is Salman’s biggest project yet. "Inspite of the subject being so close to his heart and having written the story, Salman bhai does not interfere with the shooting. He trusts the director and has left it to his better judgment. Salman bhai’s involvement is in keeping his body fit and giving his best for his shots,"says Galani.

Veer is expected to release anytime between Diwali and Christmas. The project has already been bought by Eros International.
