MUMBAI: The Sanajay Dutt starrer Satte Pe Satta is slated to go on floors by mid-April, 2011.
The film, which is an official remake of the 1982 movie of the same name, will be directed by Soham Shah and is being co-produced by Dutt and Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Vision.
The original Satte Pe Satta starred Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan and Kalpana Iyer and was directed by Raj N. Sippy. The film is about seven brothers.
The producers of the remake have bought official rights from the makers of the 1982 film and the remake will star Dutt in the lead along with others like Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu who have been finalised to play two of the seven brothers in the film. The rest of the star cast is being finalised.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, a source close to the film said, “Besides Sanajy Dutt, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu have been finalized to play two of the brothers in the film. The rest of the star cast too will be finalized in another few days. The shoot of the film will begin by mid April.”
According to the source, the story of the remake will be the same as the original, however it will be a modernized version and there will be a few additions in the remake.
When queried by Businessofcinema.com on the star cast, the film’s director Shah said, “The casting process is still on. I will only be able to talk about it once everything is finalised.”
