SRK wishes cricketers in Sony BMG’s video

MUMBAI: Cricket fever is back again with the Champions Trophy just around the corner and Bollywood stars have taken center stage to wish the Indian team via a new music video.


Sony BMG’s latest album titled ‘Aaya India’ was released by Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Dravid in Delhi recently. The music company has tied up with Pepsi for this album, which features Pepsi brand ambassadors like SRK, Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. The album has been especially composed for the forthcoming Champions Trophy to cheer the Indian cricket team and is also a part of the Pepsi’s Blue Billion campaign.


The video of the title song ‘Aaya India’ is already on air. It has been picturised on Pepsi’s brand ambassadors and also the some of the Indian cricket team members like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Kaif. The video has been shot in the rustic locales of India.


The music for the title song has been composed by Vishal Shekhar and the lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar. The song has been rendered by Sukhvinder Singh.


Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Sony BMG general manager marketing Shanujit Bhujbal says, “Besides the song ‘Aaya India’, the album also has a compilation of seven more songs from the Sony BMG repertoire, which includes films like Rang De Basanti, Lakshya, Lagaan and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, thus giving the album a patriotic flavour.”
