Mumbai: In a landmark move ace industrialist Vijay Mallya, Rediff and popular producer and director Sanjay Gupta have joined hands to create the grand Royal Challengers AD film. The aim of the ad to bring about an awareness of Mallaya’s IPL team.
Mallaya’s is one of the seven Franchisees of the Indian Premier League besides Shah Rukh Khan, Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta, Reliance Industries Limited, Deccan Chronicle managing director PK Iyer, Emerging Media CEO Fraser Catellino and Lachlan Murdoch. The auction regarding the same was held a few weeks ago in Kolkatta.
While Sanjay Gupta will direct the film, Allan Amin, who shot to fame with Dhoom has been officially appointed as the action director for the ad. The ad features Rahul Dravid, Zahir Khan and blue eyed boy Virat Kohli and has some of the most eye-popping visuals.
Known for his expensive tastes Mallya is leaving no stone unturned to make the ad as unique as possible. The businessman has allotted a whopping amount as a budget for the ad.
Dravid said, "It’s been hectic… I really enjoyed the pace at which you guys work… Had fun shooting." Kohli, who shot for an ad for the first time, added, "It’s been exciting to do this shoot (with Sanjay Gupta) for royal challengers and hope it comes out really well."
