MUMBAI: Completing a four-year spell at Sahara Media and Entertainment Ltd. as Head – Distribution and Syndication, Sharath Pal has moved on to Reliance MediaWorks as of 25 February, 2012. He will be handling the business development as Divisional Head, Studios.
Pal was earlier with Adlabs (since late 2004), where he was in international sales looking after overseas distribution. After that, in 2008, Sahara roped him as Distribution head for films and acquisition of satellite TV rights. He worked under Sahara Media and Entertainment Head Seemanto Roy.
When contacted by businessofcinema.com regarding the reasons for his move, Pal said, “Better prospects… Lots of new things are happening at Reliance." In his new role, where he will be spearheading the sound stages business, Pal will report to Ashish Chakrobarthy, COO-Operational Services, Reliance Media Works.
