Shemaroo conducts piracy raid at Thane

MUMBAI: Shemaroo Entertainment anti-piracy head Gnanchand Maroo along with Vinayak Jadhav conducted a piracy raid in Thane where they seized 20,000 VCDs and DVDs worth Rs 75 lakhs (as per market value).


 


Maroo went to meet DCP Sanjay Sintre Saheb to discuss the raid near Thane Railway Station where pirated VCDs and DVDs were being sold in large quantities.


 


Shemaroo’s anti-piracy team, along with 10 police officers—Dilip Patil, Shaikh, Prakash Patil and Praful Joshi among others, raided eight stalls and arrested eight people on 12 February.


 


Pirated copies of new movie releases like Sunday, Super-Star, Welcome, Tare Zameen Par and Bal Ganesh, among others were confiscated.
